Powerful, power-saving CPU with 4 x Cortex-A9

The X7 utilizes Rockchip’s RK3188 SoC, with 4 Cortex-A9 cores (each 35% faster than an A7) running at 1.4GHz.  It is also 30% and 40% faster than Tegra3 at CPU and GPU performance respectively. The RK3188 is also made in a new 28nm process, 55% faster and 60% more power efficient than the 45nm LPSoC process, ensuring long runtime with ultra-low leakage current.

Docking expansion functionality

Coming home from a day enjoying Hi-Fi music from the X7 on the move, you may plug the X7 onto the FiiO-exclusive docking amplifier K5 for even higher-grade home listening! The K5 charges the X7 while providing extra functionality such as ≥1.5W output power, balanced line out, and aux line in, while the X7 may continue to be connected to the computer via the K5 for e.g. USB DAC function.

FiiO AM2A - Warm Organic Sound : More Power For the X7

Author:Brooko
Sound quality, power output, low impedance, easy to swap in and out, low cost

The AM2A module (like the AM1, AM2 and AM5 modules) has a great build, is easy to fit, and measures as well as it sounds (check FiiO's specs).

It’s great that you can now buy the Fiio X7 without amplification module or with a module of your choice.

We have already reviewed the Fiio X7 DAP on Headfonia a couple of months ago. This article describes and compares the different AM modules, the RM1 remote control and the DK1 universal docking station.

THE X7 AM2 MODULE BY FIIO

Author:marcusd
As it stands though the AM2 is my module of choice for the X7. It gives my X7 a bit more bite with both cans and IEM’s and makes it a more flexible amp module for day and daily use.

There was always going to be a part 2 and part 3 and so forth with the FiiO X7 DAP given its modular amping system and generally long shelf life road map planned from the start.

FIIO X7 – FIIO’S NUMERO UNO

Author:Lieven
The Fiio X7 is great player: it sounds oh so good (even in its leather case), it’s extremely user-friendly, it’s well built, it’s customizable because of the Android system and behind it there’s a company that listens to the consumers

Fiio is a company that is hard not to like. Check Head-Fi or Facebook and you’ll find thousands of Fiio fans of which I am one.

Fiio X7 – Potential End Game DAP

Author:Brooko
Sound quality, build, form factor, ease of use, interface, features/versatility, connectivity

The X7 sounds neutral, detailed, but also has a hard to describe quality – an expansiveness and layering – which just pulls me into the music. Last night in my final session, while I was finishing my last critical comparisons, I was sitting on the sofa, with the X7 and Adel U6’s, and playing around with Genre.
